[SOLVED] GA-Z97X-UD7 TH Thunderbolt devices only detected if boot to Windows first

Hey guys, I'm having a weird issue where attached thunderbolt devices will only be detected in Yosemite (10.10.3) if I first boot Windows 8.1.

I know about having to initialize Thunderbolt from Windows the first time, but in my case I'm having to boot to Windows first every time I want to use a Thunderbolt drive... ie. if I'm in OS X and I reboot to OS X, any attached thunderbolt peripherals disappear.

I've tried removing the AppleThunderboltNHI.kext but it doesn't make a difference either way.

Update for anyone who runs into this issue in the future, I deleted all Thunderbolt related kexts and then went into Bios and set TB security to 'Legacy' and PCIe Cache-line Size to 128. All good now.
