Hello,

I don't know if it was like this in Yosemite or is new in El Capitan but the SATA Intel Chipset series in System Information looks wrong because it shows Intel 8 Series instead of 9 Series Chipset . My build has this motherboard GIGABYTE Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK (rev. 1.1) BIOS version F8.

Anybody has an idea what might be the issue or where to start the checks?

Thank you.
Zed

It's possibly related to the system definition that you are using.
If everything is working ok then it's probably just cosmetic.

Thanks for your replay. Everything runs very good, no issues until now, but I would like to find what the issue is as I can remember now that in Yosemite it was using Intel Chipset 9.

The system definition that I’m using currently is the same one that I used in Yosemite, iMac 14,2.
Is this good? Or should I change it with another one?

Thanks again.

Edit, I also tried iMac 15,1 and didn't change anything ... still Chipset 8 :(

Fix: MultiBeast 7.5/Drives/Disk/Intel Generic AHCI SATA

Thanks Toleda, Can I use this even if I'm on Clover boot manager?

ok, so finally I got it right in System Information.
Steps that I did to "fix" it (I still think this is just cosmetics as DPCIManager shows intel 8 series):

1. Installed AHCIPortInjector.kext as per Toleda instructions (MultiBeast 7.5/Drives/Disk/Intel Generic AHCI SATA)
2. Changed SMBIOS from 14,2 to 15,1 with clover (it matches my CPU)
3. Edit the Info.plist from AppleAHCIPort.kext and Cut the Item 0 (pci8086,8c02) from IONameMatch under Intel8SeriesAHCI and Paste it under Intel9SeriesAHCI (see screenshot above)
4. Repair permissions and rebuild kernel cache

Thanks.
