Hi all,

out of the blue my system decided that the ethernet connection is there, but is not able to get an IP address.

I tried reinstalling the AtherosE2200Ethernet.kext driver, checked the cabling, etc. I don't use sleep so that can't be the problem.

Has anyone have any suggestions?

Jasper

Hi @tony535, I did try the suggested methods in this thread, (actually I tried them again a few moments ago) none of them worked for me. And I do remember that this was the solution a few year and OS X versions ago...

:(

A small but important update; It seems the problem wasn't in my OS X config, but in my ASUS router. I updated it with the WRT-Merlin custom firmware and the DHCP immediately assigned a IP-Address.
