Hi,

I am trying to do a dual boot on on a Dell Latitude 5285 (i7 & 16gb ram). I'm following a tutorial on youtube for another Dell, which I thought may of worked. However, I'm stuck on the initial install where the apple logo and the installation bar - although my bar progresses (it's taking a hell of a long time), and it halts at the end.

Is there any suggestions which guides I could follow that would be similar to my machine (not expecting everything to work, but a start would be great).

My current MacBook Air is on its last legs :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Follow the Clover guide linked from the FAQ.
http://www.tonymacx86.com/el-capita...faq-read-first-laptop-frequent-questions.html

Although you should read the FAQ for an overview of issues, the Clover guide is linked from the first question: "Q. Where do I start?", just after the bold face "Clover Guide".
Here is a direct link, just to be clear:
https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/guide-booting-the-os-x-installer-on-laptops-with-clover.148093/

Also, your profile must be filled out with complete details as requested in the FAQ, again under "Q. Where do I start?". All seven details requested are equally important.

And if you have an issue (after following the guide), or on any other problem, you must provide a detailed description of the problem including information that helps us understand what you're doing. Always attach "Problem Reporting" files as per FAQ.

The required files and data are fully detailed in the last question in the FAQ:
"Q. What are typical "Problem Reporting" files?"

Thanks for replying. I think I have updated my profile to include my CPU / Graphics card. I cannot find the motherboard it uses.

I'm in the process of reading the FAQ. However, a question I have is how do I determine if another guide here is applicable for me? or what laptops are similar that I can potentially use?

Your profile is not complete. Missing:
- make/model
- clover info (will be Clover UEFI)
- screen resolution

i think (hope) its correct now

Ive uploaded the plist im using and also a screen of the kexts i transferred over. i turned on the mode where i could see all the log text and many errors happened, is there an option for me to upload this (i.e a path i can locate)?

If you have an issue, you must provide a detailed description, and...

"Problem Reporting" files are incomplete.
Read FAQ, "Problem Reporting" again. Carefully. Attach all requested files/output.

No verbose boot photo attached.
misc/preboot.log is missing (you forgot to press F2).
ACPI/origin/* also missing (you forgot to press F4).

hi, i have included the preboot.log and origin folder - the last time it was wrote to was 20mins before the verbose boot failed - so not sure if its outputted all of the log.

ive also included 3 screenshots - in order, the last one is right before it goes off

apfs.efi is missing from drivers64UEFI.
EmuVariableUefi-64.efi is missing from drivers64UEFI.
SATA-100-series-unsupported.kext is missing from kexts/Other.
Also, try also booting with invalid ig-platform-id.
