Motherboard
Apple MacBook Pro 15" Retina Mid 2014
CPU
1x 2,5-GHz quad-core Intel Core i7-processor (Turbo Boost 3,7 GHz) 256KB L2 cache, 6MB L3 cache
Graphics
1x Intel Iris Pro & 1x NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M met 2 GB GDDR5
Mac
  1. MacBook Pro
Mobile Phone
  1. iOS
Allright, got my system running, BIOS settings are fine.

I have connected: One HDD to a white port on my GA-X58-UD3R with a Asus ENGTX285, 4GB DDR (clocked at 1066mhz somehow, and a it should be 1600mhz), and a i7 950. Booted with iBoot and iBoot supported, so far so good.

But when I switch to SL DVD and hit enter, the Apple logo comes along and after a minute I get a small error logo, circle with a line in it.

Where do I go from here? What am I doing wrong?

Thanks very much!

SOLVED: Used the wrong SATA chipset & ACHI was off in BIOS.

Boot in verbose mode using -v to see what is causing the kernel panic.

Re: Error when switching to SL Retail DVD 10.6.3

Found two things:

Warning: found invalide min/max dB (using default -22.5 -> 0.0 range)
Still waiting for root device

And a new one:
Error: FireWire unable to determine security-mode; defaulting to full-secure.

Followed by "Still waiting for root device"

Re: Error when switching to SL Retail DVD 10.6.3

On IDE0 I have my SSD (master) and on 7 I have the cd/dvd drive.

Re: Error when switching to SL Retail DVD 10.6.3

Booting with rd=disk0s1, no difference.
Booting with platform=ACPI -v, no difference.

Could it be the SSD?

Edit: Also added the DVD/CD drive to the intel sata controller.

SDD is set as the channel 0 master, the DVD as the channel 1 master.

Yay! New error: EBIOS read error.

There are only 6 Intel SATA ports on this motherboard. So how can you have the optical drive on 7?

Re: Error when switching to SL Retail DVD 10.6.3

Right. I'm getting somewhere now. It's booting as we speak.

Edit1:
On my first install, the computer rebooted. Dunno if it was done or not. Tried booting from the SSD and got an error. I'm now trying for the second time.
Edit2:
Systems works. Now downloading the 10.6.4 update... Fingers crossed. :)

Re: iBoot Supported & SL Retail DVD 10.6.3

Done with the 10.6.4 update, now busy with MultiBeast. But I don't have a clue what to do.

- EasyBeast? Is my CPU supported or not?
- UserDSDT and follow the CustoMac guide? With the difference that I DO want to run 64bit and I have a NVIDIA based card.

*argh*

Where can I download some knowledge?
