So Many Ugly Cases Part II - HTPC Cases

Just found a set of cases for Mini-ITX which look amazing !!!

The size is 210x215x55mm (a tad over 2" high)

Apparently it's possible to get them in 45mm, 55mm, 80mm high...

The low ones seem to be limited to a 65W TDP, so it's probably OK for an i3...

Here are all links I could find about these:

And a review of an HTPC based on these: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Viak ... -55/6.html

If we could get the GMA HD2000 working, the 45mm would be amazing...

Looks like some nice iTX cases. If Apple, MacMan, et al, can break the code to get HD2K/3K working, it could be approximately 1/2 the cost of a Mini.

I love my two Minis. You can make a iMac out of a Mini and a monitor. Just attach the mini to the back of the monitor.

Well, I finally made my mind up. I got a Silverstone GD06B case from Amazon for $122 USD including shipping.

Front view with the locking, folding down door down revealing front connections (bottom, center, reset button (bottom, right), pop out removable 3.5" hard drive bays (top, left) and optical drive (top, right).

Here's a view of the HTPC Silverstone GD06B case in the HDTV stand while testing. (I know, I know...cable management will be next on the list.)

I like the Wesena HTPC-e5 (seen here), though I prefer the black version. I plan on combining it with the eHDD storage (seen heree) if there's sufficient room for cooling in my entertainment center.

Though, Wesena has other HTPC cases (including mini-ITX cases) that others might like.

Sudds,

Yeah, but it's not a HTPC type of case, more of good looking desktop.

As you can tell, the Silverstone GD06 looks like a AVR and is perfect fit in a/my HDTV stand or AV tower.

It's TNT! :headbang:

We'll have to add this company to our list. (tonymacx86 is working on a CustoMini build.) The problem with the case you reference is the 120w PSU. So, using low wattage system components is a must. The CustoMini is possible once HD 3000 audio through the HDMI connection is working.
