SM951 Disappointingly Slow!?

Just finished new build with the following:
Yosemite 10.10.4
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK rev1.1 (F7 Bios)
32GB Crucial Ballistix Sport XT DDR3 1866
4790K Processor
GTX 980ti
Samsung SM951

I used the latest MultiBeast (settings attached)

The benchmarks are much slower than I was expecting. Any ideas?

Couple questions for you.

Are you plugging the SM951 directly into the MLB? Or thought expansion card?

You need to make sure that you are getting the full 4x speed of the slot to gain the full performance of the Sm951. I bought an adapter (http://www.amazon.com/Lycom-DT-120-PCIe-Adapter-Support/dp/B00MYCQP38/ref=pd_bxgy_147_text_y) and that gave me more than double the performance I was getting plugging into the native m.2 interface on the MLB which I believe caps out at 2x.
