Skylake Desktop Update?

I've been running a Skylake Hackintosh for awhile now and it's really stable now. Current specs
MSI-7984, i5-6500, EVO 860 SSD, 32 Gb mismatched 2133 DDR4, GTX 710
on Geekbench 5 i get 986 single core and 3319 Multi.
I feel that this is adequate but it's old now and so maybe an update/upgrade is in order? I don't do anything special other than photo editing with Photoshop.
1. I've thought about a better Skylake CPU and new 3200 DDR 4 memory.
i7-6700 $490 Cdn or?
32 Gb DD4 3200 - $200 Cdn
2. Or just get a cheap i3-8100 or 9100 or ? but then I'd need a new Motherboard too but this does allow from some further upgrading in the future.

But really how much improvement could i expect with either option

How about an AMD RX 580? This will bring the performance up quite a bit and can be used in a future build.

Well ... i am not a gamer so while a better Graphics card will up the scores I don't know that I'd feel any improvement
Though this does bring to mind a Ryzen system ... hmmm ...

It will increase your photoshop speeds. These cards are priced for clearance right now but they will have long term support with Apple.

With your i5-6500 + RX480 what Geekbench 5 results do you get?

Well I've got a RX 570 on order for $181 Cdn. My other option was a new i3-9100 + mobo for about $220. I'll post my results/feelings once it's installed. One reason I went with the graphics card update is because I"ll prolly try getting back into First Person Shooters(on my Windows partition).

Installed it without any problems ran Geekbench 5 and the results weren't any better thant GT 710 but I see some of the tests didn't run? Running photoshop it's a little better/faster gotta try a game on Windows nextg...
