I need some assistance. I had been running the Skylake 6700K 4.0 which will boost to 4.2 GHZ with no problems. I was getting the correct p-states and the processor would ramp up and down depending on the workload. I achieved this by generating the correct states using pikes ssdt generator shell script.

I decided to give overclocking a go and increase the chip slightly so that it would boost to 4.4 GHZ. I re-generated ssdt using the script, but this time added the -turbo 4400, so that it would not stop at 4.2.

After restarting, the chip stays constantly on 4.4 GHZ. No ramp up and ramp down. Just one state.

Any thoughts?

actually i reverted back to the previous SSDT and removed the overclock and noticed that i am stuck at 4.2 GHZ. So some how after i updated to 10.12.4 the various states no longer work. I have the generated aml in /ACPI/Patched

No one else have this issue? I discovered that if I get rid of the ssdt altogether then the processor does indeed step. It will go from 800 MHz all the way to 4.4 ghz.

But when I try to apply the ssdt generated using ssdtPRgen.sh it will stay on the highest frequency all of the time.

Had the same issue when I overclocked mine to 4.5ghz (same cpu) and reverting back also did the same as yours where it seems to be locked at 4.0ghz.

However when using the intel power management gadget it is working with all cpu states so i think its an issue with how it's seen with hwmonitor or whatever app you are using.
