I have a Z68XP-UD5 (F6 bios) with i7-2600k and AMD Radeon HD 6870 running the latest 10.8.2.

When I shut down my system it shuts down Mountain Lion, but the computer hardware is still running and i have to power off my pc by holding down the power button for 5 seconds. I did not have this problem on Snow Leopard or Lion.

Any help would be much appreciated thanks.

Thank you wildwillow for the advice. I actually have already tried that. It still does the same thing. I have attached my Power Management Setup in case I missed something.

Two little problems

Is your Bios resetting when you restart? That looks correct from your picture.

Try setting your bios to optimised Defaults again. Then make sure the you select ACHI, HDD smart Capability and 64 bit enabled.

Ok now that it set to optimised, in the gigabyte bios try setting PME Event Wake Up = Disabled
