This machine is being built with the purpose of being a work horse for video editing and animating in Premier/ After effects. The aim here is to achieve fast rendering times and basically have a machine that can give me a quick response to jobs. I am board of constantly hearing my macbook fan kick in while it trys to slug its way through a render. My plan was to get one of the new iMacs but now I am thinking why compromise, lets go all out here!

Could use some good advice on this set-up, about to spend a lot of money on it so want to know i've got it right. Appreciate all the help I have received so far! I hope once i've got this project complete I can return that help on the board.

Looks OK to me. Just remember when running MultiBeast post install to select the GraphicsEnabler=No option for the GTX 580.

Your processor and motherboard are not compatible.

Either need to change the processor to an i7-3770k for socket 1155 or change the motherboard to a 2011 socket.

You are right - I should have caught that.

Thanks. I will look into the motherboard/ processor options.
