I was having trouble with hdmi audio and headphone audio, and hadnt worked on the computer or done anything tonymac-esque stuff in a few months, and ended up screwing up.

Thought dumbly it might be a driver issue and installed the new multibeast.

Now I get frozen circle that's supposed to spin.

I get this error:

Now I'm not sure what I can do in order to get back in...

I've tried -v -x but it doesn't make a difference.

Is there any way to get back in so I can fix it?

Toward the top of the picture, it says that the AppleRTC.kext is damaged. Try to repair it as follows:

You will need your Unibeast USB installer. And you need to know the exact name of your Mac OSX partition.

Boot the USB drive to the installer. Answer the language question. On the next screen, go to the Utilities menu and select Terminal:

Code:
Type: diskutil list

This will give you a chance to verify the name of your Mac OSX partition.

Now,

Code:
Type: cd "/Volumes/(name of OSX partition)" <-- use quotes but not parens
Type: cd System/Library/Extensions
Type: chown -R root:wheel AppleRTC.kext
Type: cd ../
Type: touch Extensions

Try to boot into your OSX partition.

Thank you, I'll remake a unibeast stick then try it!

OK. I boot up, set usb to first, multibeast comes up, asks if I'd like to boot from usb or mac1. I click usb. Thing swirling thing freezes again.

:(

Do I need to remove ram for this to work?

EDIT:

Got the still waiting for root device error.

It's been awhile, some stuff is coming back to me now. Pci something and bootuid=0 or graphics enabler. I'll play around with it and let you know. THANKS!

So I was able to boot by using PCIBootUID=0 after the fix of the kext.

Where should I go from here to fix now?

Without PCIBootUID=0 I get this (See picture) 2012-10-17_23-46-08_874.jpg

With PCIBootUID=0 on, firefox and safari makes the screen flash black until I quit it. Here is a video.

Thanks

I believe PCIBootUID should be PCIRootUID.

In the picture, it is hanging on video. With PCIRootUID=0, it no longer hangs on video but video isn't entirely fixed.

In Multibeast, try selecting a Mac mini System Definition.

It was late sorry. I will follow some of the guides now to fix the HD3000 video. Is there anyway to completely uninstall chimera and everything that multibeast did and get multibeast to start from scratch? Or is that unnecessary?

I will follow some of the guides now to fix the HD3000 video.

One of the things suggested in the guides is to install a system definition for the Mac mini. That is because the mini runs with HD3000 graphics.

Boot with PCIRootUID=0. Fire up Multibeast and select the following item:

Customization -> System Definitions -> Mac mini

Is there anyway to completely uninstall chimera and everything that multibeast did and get multibeast to start from scratch? Or is that unnecessary?

It would be difficult and not necessary. It is easier to reinstall.

You were right about the mac mini thing. Works now without PCIRootUID=0. Also starts at 1920x1080 for the first time. The problem is, after five minutes it does this: http://youtu.be/YUCRPArbwmA Looks like TV static. :( Thanks.

Not sure if I should make a new thread or go to another part of the forum or not.

I also figured out it was the correct multibeast, just selected the wrong things.

So About the static strangeness. It seems unplugging the hdmi to dvi cable and plugging it back in restores the screen. Right now I have to do it every 5 minutes or so.
