Screen tearing and Safe Mode, first build

Hi! I updated from El Capitan to macOS Sierra, and it only seems to boot in Safe Mode. Furthermore, there seems to be a ton of screen tearing and graphics issues. For example, in iTunes and Safari there are a lot of white lines moving across the screen when I move my mouse. Do I need to run multibeast again? Is there anything I should be installing? Thanks in advance!

I have the exact same problem. Looks like the graphics card is not getting recognized - this is a machine on which El Capitan installed flawlessly on first try with no tricks.
