Yep, it worked. Just changed the pri-match id and was good to go. Still need to test some more but video plays ok... Transitions are slow and choppy though. This is a good start though.

I'll try and get my 580s working next!

I installed Lion over my SL 10.6.8
In SL 10.6.8, I injected 'AAPL,os-info' code into boot.plist in order to get HD3000 working.
But in Lion, I don't need need that code anymore, I didn't patch the driver either, I didn't do anything actually. QE/CI is working, I can change resolution, no screen artifacts.
Smbios 8,1, IntelHD3000 devId: 0116

Yeah, it's cuz the MBP8,1 tells the system you have an HD3000 so it just works including QE/CI. Most of us have to use MacPro3,1 for a lot of the non-native hardware.

It HAS TO work, the new Mac Mini has the same HD2000 in it (i5-2500T).
Any positive comments welcome

Are you sure about that? Apple claims it is a HD3000.

The processor in the 4C/8T Mini is an i7-2635QM. The others are the i5-2520M and i5-2410M (2C/4T).

The specs are as following:
Processor: Core i5-480M
Memory: 4gb DDR3
Graphics: (according to dxdiag in Windows 7) I have Intel HD Graphics

Will this solution work for my laptop as well?

No, that's not a Sandy Bridgr CPU, so it has nither HD 2000 or HD 3000 graphics. Nothing in this thread is related to the graphics on that CPU AFAIK.

I change the Info.plist with the matching device ID for my chip (id: 0x0102 for i5-2500). However, I get the following error.

I even cannot go upto the Lion Installer (xMove method). The screen goes blank after reading the kexts stage.

The Lion installer is failing to detect the Intel HD & the output is going to the AMD card. But since the internal display defaults to Intel HD, I see only a blank screen.

Neither the original IntelSNB kext works nor the one from this thread. As the DeviceID of my graphics was already present in the kext (although "0x" missing), I tried adding "0x"before the devID, but no effect.
