Saving/Copy Previous OSX SSD To New

I had a working Yosemite setup using:
Asus Rampage IV Black Edition
4930k
Dual EVGA GTX 780ti

I'm currently trying to setup Yosemite or El Capitan on:
MSI X99A Godlike Carbon
6850k
Dual EVGA GTX 780ti

Is there a way to copy applications/data straight across to the new setup?
or
somehow edit the old hardrive to simply boot with the new hardware?

Use Apple's Migration Assistant... you can do it over the network, or temporarily hook the old hard drive via USB (or Sata).

the old setup is gone, all i have is the internal sata ssd harddrive with the setup on it.
so i 'should' be able to use the migration assistant on the new build to copy it over via usb?
could i do it by connectly via sata internally to the new machine?
(otherwise need a sata/usb converter)
plus it's going to end up being another internal storage drive anyway.

Yes, Migration assistant can work on the drives directly. (That's what I did.)

but it's and existing yosemite setup from a different build, i didnt think the new build would be able to see it.
anyway, ill try when it's up and going and let you know. thanks

It will work. I imported my 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion) apps/docs to my new El Capitan drive.
