Sata3 PCI card

I just scooped up a sand disk sata 3 ssd 75% off at amazon (get them well they last!) My build is an old Nehalem build so I dont have SATA3. I was hoping to get a PCI sata 3 card and want to know which model would give me the least trouble in mountain lion?

Yeah that will work. Anything with ASM1061 chipset will work. You need to install AHCI_3rd Party SATA kext from multibeast. I bought one with ASM1061 chipset from ebay and really happy with it. Here is my AJA benchmark with the PCIe card with an Intel 330 60GB.

is there anything I have to install besides the 3rd party sata driver from multi beast? because im getting real slow test speeds like its sata 2? like 170mb/s write 190mb/s read. Its a Sandisk extreme 240gb SSD.

My sata 2 SSD is getting better numbers for read (226mb/s but for write its starting at 250mb/s and gos all the way down to 85mb/s) its a samsung 470 sata2 120gb something isnt right here....

Fixed it. turns out the slot i was in was a PCIx1 I moved it to a PCIx16 also the card wasnt seated right i had to adjust the screws on it so it would sit right when I locked it into place. I know this ssd was getting 500mb/s+ on windows but ill take 400 considering I was getting half that earlier tonight.
