Sata power to 6-pin for powering optical drive?

Hi Guys,
maybe very silly question, but I googled and can't find the answer.
I have a RM1000 PSU and a Blu ray optical drive. I need to provide power to the optical drive. It has a Sata power connector to molex provided. However I want to use the shortest cable possible.

Could I use a cable like the one above directly from my PSU to my optical drive and would it cause a problem.
I did find out that the original cable has a 5v and 12v on it and I think the 6-pin PSU output is only 12v.

Should I just use the molex connector or is it safe to order a cable like the one above and solve my power issue?

You must use one of the supplied cables that was provided with your PSU. The picture shows a cable that should connect to a GPU from the SATA socket.
