Sapphire radeon 6850 showing as pcie x8

Hi,

I just bought a Sapphire radeon hd 6850 GPU. However it is showing in system profiler as being in a PCI slot x8, even though I have it in a x16 slot. I have done a search regarding this problem, and tried to disable usb 3.0 and e sata ports in my bios as people have suggested but it makes no difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you done any benchmarks in order to see if it's just cosmetic?

Hi, thanks for the reply.

Yes I have used cinebench and got a open gl score of 52.48 fps, and a cpu of 7.40. My gpu is showing up as 'ATI Radeon Barts PRO Prototype' which is strange as well, but from what Ive read it is common. Ive tried the 'bulrushes' ATI config and while that does allow me to use HDMI input, my mouse lags.

Overall I gather this is an good benchmark for my GPU right?
