I was reading this topic and wanted to reply there but its closed:

I am having the same problem
My board as you can see in my profile can boot into Uefi and legacy.

I was with high Sierra a long time but because I purchased new effects for FCP I need to upgrade to Catalina.
I have a Nvidia GTX 650 and saw this is not any more supported in Catalina OSX so I got the Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX580 8GB DDR5
So yesterday i removed the old graphic card and tried to setup High Sierra again.
But even in high Sierra it will not show, I see the loading and than a flash and it turns black with the display on.
Tried recovery.

So if I do understand I need to purchase 2 display ports to VGA in order to get it running?
Or is there another way, now I did the connection with 1 DVI and 1 HDMI or would it be better to just buy 2 displays with a Display port?

I have a GA-Z97X-UD3H Gigabyte board
I7 8 core (i7-4790 cpu @ 3.60GHz)
Board bios has only IGFX option
Than 3 ports and PCI option.
Mem is 32 Gb DDR3
In windows 10 the Sapphire is working normal

Would it be a better option to buy a new SSD and to setup Catalina from scrap?
This with a setup of the internal 1 display intel and after to connect the Sapphire?

Anyway I did order the adapter DP to VGA but I am very remote and will take some time before it arrives so any suggestion would be great

best to not use adaptors (as some do not work at all), best to use straight hdmi or DP cables

as VGA has not been supported for many years

Ok thanks for that info, and I did use HDMI but soon before the end of booting up, there is a white flash and turns the displays into black

may be best to zip and upload your EFI

Thanks Feartech for your fast reply at the moment I need to solve another problem which needs 2 persons as the bios is corrupted so i need to use the backup bios by holding the pin 1 with pim 6 and than to turn the PC on to go into the backup mode.
It looks like Friday the 13th. today
Strange thing is when I used the internal graphic intel with the setup I got on 1 display the setup logo and on the second, connected with HDMI Sapphire also than with the reboot the bios crashed :(

I am sorry for the late reply as I had a problem with bouncing my email so I could not reply.
I fixed the issue and found out a better way to solve this problem
What have I done:

I saved my files and made a erase of the SSD
Went with the USB setup without any cards, or any other HD connected, just the Sapphire and the setup went with no problems, added the kext (WhateverGreen) and the sapphire is working!
Without this kext the second display flashes a little connected with a HDM to DVI cable.

Now I have a Sata card to add extra hard drives internal and when i plug it in the screen flashes for a second and after it turns black again.
With removing this pci card all is back, I tried all settings in the bios but it does not help so I removed the card and use a external station with USB3.

Again thank you for all the help, the bios is fixed with holding pin 1 with pin 6 on the bios to get the update from the backup bios.
