sapphire 6870, recognised as ATI Radeon HD 6xxx (SOLVED)

got my mackintosh running great on 10.7.3 today, but for one little thing. my sapphire 6870 is recognised as ATI Radeon HD 6xxx 1024 MB in system profiler and will not work with dvd player and geek bench, stream and diff mac games etc.

does anyone know how i could get my sapphire 6870 recognised in system profiler and all will be great??

Are you using GraphicsEnabler=Yes?

it doesnt work because there is no hardware acceleration, means framebuffer doesnt load, means you are using wrong boot flags (if you do use it) write down boot flags else no1 will be able to help you it can be found in boot.plist

finally got it working thanks to PGODW4!!!!!!

got it working hdmi and recognised as 6870 in system profiler too working 100% on dvd player and geek bench.

updated to 10.7.4 too, working 100%

tho after the update i had to use dvi>vga to boot into lion as hdmi falls asleep again on boot, and installed the ati6000 controller kext again and repaired the permissions using kext util. restarted and hdmi working again and does not fall asleep on boot.

my sapphire 6870 is working 100% now, never thought id see the day

That's weird, I have the diamond 6870, and it worked perfectly without me having to do anything different at all..
