I had this exact build up and running for years. The HD started to crap out on me so I replaced it. I just finished doing a fresh install and got everything up and running (or so I thought). I looked up in the right hand corner and didnt have the audio volume slider at all. No devices were listed in the system preferences either. I went back thru MB and trying to add the Realtek driver several times, messing around with the settings in between iterations, but with no success.
MB it different now than it was when I first got this machine running years ago. Any advice or troubleshooting for getting the audio back up and running?
Everything online says I should be ALC889, but it doesnt work. I am running UEHI bios on the hardware below:
Hardware:
Intel i5-2500K Sandy Bridge
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3
