Hi to all!!
first thanks to Tony and all this community for the efforts to make all this possible!
Now to my question, I've been trying to install SL on a second hackintosh rig with a i7 2600k and a gigabyte ga-z77x-ud5h, but there is no way I could do it. The installation freezes after 5 min. of the white and gray apple loading screen and the monitor turns off and that's it.
I've been looking into many posts, but with no success to find a way to do it. I found out that this combination is not the best to run with SL, but currently where I am there are not z68 mobos anymote to follow the suggestions of the sandy bridge buyers guide. I'm wanting to use a sandy bridge processor because I use pro tools 9 for audio production and SL offers the best performance. There is even no version of it for ML.
Here is what I did:
- install 1 ram module 4 gb, 1 hd 500gb, just monitor mouse and keyboard.
- Set the Uefi according to the guide I found here http://www.tonymacx86.com/99-quick-guide-configuring-uefi-gigabyte-s-7-series-lga-1155-boards.html.
(2 setting the guide did not mention, virtualization is off by default and there is no setting for 64 bit HEPT, don't know if these has something to do)
- I could boot into iBoot v.3.3.and then switched to the SL install DVD and press enter to install.
- The installation began to run and load with the gray apple screen, but after 5 min the screen went black and no more loading occurred and that it!
- I tried to disable the ati card and use the integrated card for the installation but after the 5 mins. the monitor turned white and nothing else happened.
I saw a few posts that people had success with z77 sandy bridge and SL and I thought lets go for it. But now I considering to even change the mobo. I found this list http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com.ar/2011/01/sandy-bridge-desktop-cpus-and.html (old) but i don't know if these mobos are fully supported.
Should I change the mobo? Can anyone suggest me a mobo that would really work with sandy bridge and SL? It doesn't have to be gigabite, besides the z68s chipset.
Here are the components I have for know:
i7 2600k
gigabyte ga-z77x-ud5h
corsair vengeance memories
1 500 gbs HD
XFX ati hd 6450 GP
Thank you very much for your help!!!!!
