Hi,
I tried a normal iBoot and swap discs but it hung on the grey screen with the Apple logo so I searched through the forums and tried these:
-v pcirotuid=0
-v pcirootuid=1
-v npci=0x2000
-v npci=0x3000
-x -v GraphicsEnabler=NO
-x -v GraphicsEnabler=NO PCIRootUID=1
(all as lower and mixed case)

But it hangs on [ PCI configuration begin ]

I have also seen a lot of happy Samsung R580 users with working 10.6.8 and 10.7

I have a 4GB RAM, 640GB hdd Samsung R580 i5-480M NP-R580-JT04UK with ATi Radeon HD 5470 graphics.

Could anyone please advise what switches I need to put in iBoot to install Snow Leopard properly.

first i have different Processor core i5 520 m.
try this
Open up bios.
1. Set your BIOS to ACHI mode(change from DOS to OTHER and from auto to enable )
2. Set Boot Priority to boot from CD-ROM first
3. Save settings
4-use iboot legecy (or iboot support ) + retail DVD (or restore retail DVD to flash disk) and boot option
busratio=17 or busratio=18 or cpus=1 busratio=18 or cpus=1 busratio=17
for me busratio=18 work fine
5- show this link http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=4609
tell me if you success or you need more help

Unfortunately none of those options worked for me. Stuck at the same place every time.

I've decided to go straight for a Lion install using Tony's Unibeast guide. I have a bootable USB with Lion on it. Using "PCIRootUID=0 cpus=1 busratio=17" has got me past [ PCI configuration begin ] but I have a blank screen now doing nothing so I'll have to try a couple of other switches as well.
