Just ordered my system and waiting for UPS to come knocking on my door. Everything seems like its compatable but I cant find anything saying my DVD Burner will be compatable or not??

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 2AL%2fRSBS

I dont want to get everything together and all ready to rock n roll to find out that a simple $20 optical drive is going to warrant a trip to Best Buy to pick up a new drive.

Any info would be awesome

These days any old burner will work on OSX and be recognised fine.

Only thing to add is that some (a very few) have issues with randomly spinning up/down at intervals (irritating once you notice it) or waking and otherwise sleeping computer.

Those characteristics can sometimes be changed by leaving the drive with a Disk inside it.

I think these symptoms are rare, so if your DVD player is a popular one but you have not seen anyone complaining about it on the forums then you should be go to go.

If you have it already I'd say stick with it and see if it has any issues - you will probably be okay. If you are buying new then I'd just go with the tried and tested ones, for instance look at the drives listed in the customac builds.
