RX580 10.13.4 Photos App problem

Hello everybody,
I have a GA-Z170-HD3P, a Intel 6600k CPU and Aorus Radeon ™ RX580 8G from Gigabyte

As soon as I open "photos" with mac OS 10.13.4 and watch live pictures, they sometimes get white and I can not see anything anymore, so is a gamble when I watch h265 (with the iphone recorded videos), sometimes it works, sometimes it does not work.

With Lilu and Whatevergreen "photos" stucks and the hole MacOS won't work, only the cursor from the mouse is moving...

Any ideas?

I have the same exact issue with nearly identical hardware. Posted a similar question awhile back with no reply. I don't have the answer, but just wanted to let you know you're not alone.

For AMDEllesmereGraphicsAccelerator (RX470/480/570/580).

1, enable IQSV can fix this issue, or

2, disable IOGVACodec if system does not has IGPU or do not want to enable IQSV, add below patch to config.plist, disable IOGVACodec by rename IOGVACodec to IOGVACodex, should work from 10.13.4 up.

OK THX i fixed by my own, while I was activating internal graphics an then boot to osx and then deactivate the internal graphic card, sounds bad, but fixed it.

Hi Shuhung,
I think there is no solution for now to disable IOGVACodec in 10.14, but maybe you know a way to do it?
