So I get home last night and safari can't get out on the internet, and this morning it appears iTunes as well. However, mail and Quicken seem to get out just fine, this is over wireless; which network prefs says all is good.

Plugged in a hard line and same thing. This is very bizarre. Now I am just guessing that iTunes uses WebKit to get out, as does Safari; so at work I am going to download another browser and see what happens.

Even a re-boot did not solve the issue. Did not look at the log page yet, but hopefully some clues.

Riddle solved! Apparently my cable modem decided it wasn't going to pass any http traffic, and I also received a letter from Comcast stating Dec 2nd my modem would not work anymore (ok so sue me for using the same DOCSIS 1.0 modem for the last 10 years).

Anyway, new *cough* modern modem and I am back up running. Comcast says they didn't do anything, but since I was able to send and receive mail, I'm not sure I am buying it.

My old modem would work for about 10 seconds after a power cycling had been done with http traffic.
