I currently have OS X Mavericks running on a Hackintosh (Dell XPS 420).

I have created a UniBeast USB to install Yosemite and was about to erase the Mavericks disk and install Yosemite when I noticed that the Utilities menu of the USB installer does not have an option to "Restore from Time Machine Backup".

So, if the Yosemite installation does not work for some reason and I need to restore the Mavericks installation from the Time Machine backup, how do I do that?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

I think the only way, would be a clean install of Mavericks, and then when going through the setup process, it should offer to transfer settings and files. If you select this, you should be able to select time machine as the source, and restore that way.

much easier though, is to use a spare drive to test yosemite / clone you current Mavericks first.

you have to use a USB created with UniBeast 3.0.1
