Not sure if this is the sort of thing which may be of use to you or not, but ...
You should be able to get some idea of whether or not your system recognizes a connected device as either USB 3.0 (superspeed) or as only capable of USB 2.0 speeds (HiSpeed) by looking at the entry for the speed of a device in the USB section of the System Information.
For a USB 1.1 device, such as a keyboard, the speed will be very low. For USB 2.0 the speed should be "Up to 480 Mb/sec". For USB 3.0 at full speed it should list the speed of the device as "Up to 5 Gb/sec".
