Reinstall / delete installed kexts and chimera?

Hey all,

Having major issues with my hackintosh. The screen keeps going blank lately.

Is there a way to remove current hackintosh tools and kexts etc without a total reinstall?

Or, is there a way to do a reinstall without a format / without losing data and programs etc?

If your hackintosh can still boot with iBoot or rBoot cd, you can delete the kext that has been giving you problems and reinstall kext again. Another option is booting using single user mode but you have to know the commands in terminal.

Thanks for the response.

I am not sure which kext is causing the issue. I'd like to delete all of them and then add each piece of hardware sequentially until I find the problem. How do I go about removing kexts?

In Snow Leopard, kexts installed by Multibeast can be found in Extra folder. You can try deleting the Extra folder and running Multibeast again. Goodluck.
