Is it PCIe? Most are not supported due to the lack of drivers. There was a project VoodooSDHC which aimed to create a generic driver, but the code is woefully out of date and no one seems keen on fixing it.

How can I find out if it's PCIe? In system information it appears in USB section as USB2.0-CRW

Then it is USB. You might search around for guides related to making USB card readers work...
