So I upgrade to Mountain Lion and my old Atheros WiFi card isn't recognized anymore. No problem! It gives me an excuse to finally build a "REAL" AirPort Card. I ordered a BCM94322MC and a Mini PCI-E to PCI-E Adapter:

Once I put em together and threw it in my machine, it was recognized immediately, just as advertised! Showed up as "3rd Party." Wow, great, I've got WiFi now, without having to mess with a single kext!

The problem however is that when I run over to run a SpeedTest on it, it tops out at around 8-10 mbps. Not too shabby, but my iMac, MacBook Pro, and older Hackintosh running Lion are topping out at 34-35 mbps!

I thought this "Real" AirPort thing was supposed to run native and all, and require no configuration. What's up with the major bottleneck in speed?

(My Router's a 4th Gen AirPort Extreme)

I have this same problem. Airport Extreme card taken from a dead Apple TV (first gen) in a PCI adapter card with two antennas connected, but it is dead-dog slow. Did you find a solution?
