Hello !

I have a strange problem and didn't find any solution in the forum, so I ask it here.
I've installed El Capitan with Clover in my new Build (Gigabyte Z97-D3H, Intel i7 4970K, Gigabyte GTX 960 4Go).
Sometimes, it boots normally, but sometimes (depending on the clover boot theme ?), El Capitan seems to load normally and at the 3/4th of the loading, it goes back to Clover screen. Then, if I go to clover parameters and select another theme, it will eventually boot.
Do you know how to fix this ?

Thank you and have a nice day.

More information :

Clover have to reboot about 3 times before booting correctly to El Capitan.
At the 3/4 of the progression bar, everytime the screen goes black for a few second and either it says "no signal" and reboots to clover, or it goes to the login screen.

When it starts, I have this report :

If I add "nv_disable=1", it boots correctly (but then I have some strange color artefacts)

I tried to take a picture in verbose mode, it is attached to the post.

Thank you

Have you installed the correct Nvidia Web driver for your version of El Capitan? Are you booting with nvda_drv=1? Are you using a digital monitor connection?

Hello,
thank you for your reply.

Yes, I use the nvidia web driver and I boot with nvda_drv=1.
But sadly, the old screen I use has only a VGA connector, so I use a DVI/VGA converter :(
Would it explain the 2 reboots before it works ? Why is it random ?

Have a nice day.

there is your problem with the DVI/VGA converter, you need to use HDMI or DVI.

All I know is that El Capitan has lousy support for VGA. The rule is "don't do that."

If you're stuck with a VGA-only monitor, I'd get an "active" something-digital-to-VGA adapter and connect it to a digital output of your motherboard or graphics card and see if that gives better results.

Have similar issue with z97x i7 4790 and gt740, the system will sleep/wake with everything woking for up to a month and then suddenly panic and take several try to reboot? sometimes it boots the first time and then panics after only a couple minutes of use? using mini hdmi
