raid 0 ssd boot drive?

hello, i would like to setup a raid 0 using to samsung 830 ssd drives. should i configure them using the mobo raid (asus p8z77-I) or use the mac osx software raid?

OS X will not recognize a raid array set up from motherboard BIOS as a valid raid array. You must use OS X software raid.

OTOH, why would you want to? Makes no sense, especially with a fast SSD, and is just a headache down the road to use a raid boot drive. RAID10 for storage, yes, makes sense. RAID0 for boot drive, no, I wouldn't do it.
