Hi,

i am running Mavericks 10.9.2 successful with a R9 280x.
As it is a monster for OPEN CL GPU Rendering i would like to
use NEATVIDEO Denoiser with that card. Since Version 3.5 they
support MACPRO FIREPRO D500/D700.

my Card is recognized as "AMD Radeon HD 7970 X-Edition 3072 MB" and i would like system think its d700.

is there a way? i am using Clover Bootloader, but just rename the card there doesnt change name in OSX.

thank you very much for ideas :)

You could rename it using a DSDT injection but it would be cosmetic only. What is it you want to achieve with this rename? It won't make your card perform like a D700.

i thought that chipset of R9 280x is identical to d700.

what i want is to use NEAT VIDEO Denoiser 3.5 which supports on MAC

FirePro D300/500/700
AMD 7950 MAC Edition
etc

(on windows they support all Open CL and Cuda Cards, HD7970, R9 280x and more)

so i expect that neatvideo is similar to adobe premiere, there you need to add your "unsupported card" in a simple text file to activate OPENCL / CUDA rendering.

i think that Neatvideo works similar, they know the original mac specs and add compatible graphic cards in their database. When you open Neativideo it will check if your system is running with one of these cards, if not its just not enabling GPU Rendering.

Thats why i would like to try to rename my graphic card.

Do you have a link where i can read about DSDT editing?

Topic can be closed :)

Neatvideo Support is great, they added our hackintosh prototype compute engine to there graphic database. now i have opencl video denoising.

:)

I can't get mine working, any info on how you did? I have the same video card (280x toxic) as you and it says

Looking for AMD OpenCL-capable devices...
OpenCL initialized successfully.
Checking OpenCL GPU #1:
GPU device name is: AMD Radeon HD Tahiti XT Prototype Compute Engine
This device is not supported
Check failed - will not use the device

EDIT: nevermind, sent them an email and they sent me a new version of the program that works

Hi jerivalu,

My question is a little bit off topic, but what benchmark scores do you get with your Toxic and can it handle two monitors? If so, how did you set that up?

Take care!
