I've everything working Ok, but Intel Power Gadget show 0GHz for iGPU and Geekbench doesn't let me use Intel HD630. Does anybody know what could be the issue?

Hi everyone,
Can someone clarify how to enable quick sync resp. hardware acceleration on my set?
Gigabyte aorus z370 Gaming 7 &
i7 8700-K

Thank you so much!

Here's how I managed to get it done on various hackies I use:
Download latest Lilu.kext (https://github.com/acidanthera/Lilu/releases)
Download latest Whatevergreen.kext (https://github.com/acidanthera/WhateverGreen/releases)
Put in EFI - Clover - kexts - 10.13
Reboot
Go into BIOS
Enable IGFX
Select PCI as primary graphics
Save BIOS
Reboot

Check status using VideoProc.app (https://www.macxdvd.com/mac-video-converter-pro/)

I was able to do this on Hackies using GTX and AMD

Thank you very much. Meanwhile I managed this as well. I forgot to put -disablegfxfirmware in boot, so I constantly got KP when booting. Now, it all works. Thx!

How can I find the right values for me. I've an Intel 7700 3.6 GHz and an Asus Strix z270H.
I've already injected the kexts but MacX doesn't show a change

Hey rokdrgo,
Did you get everything working? If so, can you take a snapshot of your values from Clover - Devices>Properties and Arbitrary? Your system is close to mine and I'm a little confused on the correct entries for a 7700 Intel+Nvidia setup.

My system sees both cards but render times in FCX are really slow compared to a much lower spec'd iMac. I suspect the hardware acceleration isn't working.

Thanks for any info!

Hi Scott1204. I've already upload my config.plist file and a screenshot of the kexts i'm using

With i7-3770(K) and iMac13,2 system definition, you can use ig-platform-id "0x01620007"

With i7-6700(K) and iMac17,1 system definition, you can use ig-platform-id "0x19120001"

With i7-7700(K) and iMac18,3 system definition, you can use ig-platform-id "0x59120003"

With i7-8700(K) and iMac18,3 system definition, you can use ig-platform-id "0x59120003"

These ig-platform-ids are "headless" settings meaning that they will not work with a monitor plugged in to them.

@pastrychef,

Where/how did you find these headless ig-platfom-id's ?

I have a desktop Z97 system with i7 4790K CPU and a single Nvidia 980 Ti GPU, it runs High Sierra fine but with no hardware acceleration for encode and decode on the nvidia DGPU ... i have Clover renaming GPU0 to IGPU but am not injecting a ig-platform-id value as i did not think it was important as my monitor is connected to the Nvidia card.

But reading this thread it seems that it may not be that simple, do you know of a headless ig-platform for i7-4790K ?
I'm using iMac13,2 sys def.

I'm using the latest Nvida web drivers + Lilu + NvidaGraphicsFixUp ... I know that NvidaGraphicsFixUp is now depreciated but if i delete it and install the latest WhatEverGreen kext the system KP's. Am wondering if injecting a headless ig-platform-id will help with both of these issues.

Cheers
Jay

Yes. The link provided by toleda has all the info you need.

Also, see this thread for instructions on how to inject when using WhateverGreen/Mojave.
