Hey guys!

I ran into a big question that i haven't been able to answer.

Are all MB able to overlock a i7 3770k?

I was looking to buy a Gigabyte GA-Q77M-D2H, but can't confirm if i will be able to OC.

If not, what about the Gigabyte
GA-B75M-D3P, the GA-Z77-DS3H or the GA-Z77X-UD5H?

Thank you guys!

You need a Z77 motherboard to overclock the 3770K, and not those based on B75 / H77 / Q77.

Thanks for the Info!

I searched a lot about those Z77 MB and their mATX versions.

I'm in between two now. the Z77MA-G45 you told me, and the P8Z77-M Pro.

Both are DSDT free and should work out of the box with the modded bios.

The thing is USB3.0 looks to be not working, or at least having issues in the Z77MA.

Which one would you recommend?

Thank you!

Either one will do the job and both require a BIOS patch to enable native power management in OS X. Both have a patched BIOS available at http://biosrepo.wordpress.com/faq/ .

The ASUS has Flash Back, where you put the patched BIOS on a USB and pkug it into the marked USB port on the back plane. Very easy way to do the BIOS flash. The MSI is also easy to flash.
Both have easy OC software in the BIOS setup to make OCing easy for the novice.

Really, you need to look at the features of each board and determine which is best for you and that meets your needs. Both are good boards.

The z77ma-g45 usb3 ports work if you disable legacy usb in the bios. If it is enabled and you plug in a usb3 device it will lock up the computer. Outside of that it is an awesome motherboard. I have mine overclocked and it rocks!
