Hey guys, im really new to all this so ive kind of come up with some system parts but i also want to see what you guys recommend on the budget i have

my budget for each part:
Motherboard: £150
CPU: £160-170
Graphics Card: £120
RAM: £80

total Budget: around £550

this isnt a very powerful build but im open to suggestions on how to speed it up

my proposed parts are:

CPU: Intel Ivy Bridge i5-3550 - quad core 3.4ghz
graphics card: MSI HD 6870 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

I don't know. Comparing it with a SB iMac isn't fair, is it?

i would love to be able to laugh at that, but i have no idea what SB stand for :shifty:

but ive looked at the apple store and the best you can get is a 3.1GHz 4core i5 with 4gb RAM and a AMD RADeon 6970M

so i think mine proposed build above that!

any guides you recommend i follow for my parts?

sorry for being needy but im new :(

How about this?

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68-UD3H = £117.25
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-SKT-11 ... 336&sr=8-1

CPU: Intel Sandy Bridge i7-2600K = £220.98
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-Sandybrid ... 546&sr=1-1

Graphics Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti = 193.28
http://www.amazon.co.uk/01G-P3-1561-KR- ... 651&sr=1-3

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) = £40.78
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CMZ8GX3 ... 783&sr=1-1

Total = £572.99

This would be more powerful everywhere except ram . . .

Or you could get the Mobo and CPU above and then get your GPU and RAM for a total of: £538?

"Sandy Bridge".

sorry for being needy but im new :(
It isn't mean anything. Search a little bit, struggle, fight and you will find you want. For example in User Builds or Golden Builds or 10.7 Guides. If it's a relief for you try to organize your parts similar to a guide which is well written and understandable for you.
