Hi,

I've got a problem with my Focusrite Saffire 6 USB 1.1 Audio Interface connected to my Probook 4730s with Yosemite Clover Edition installed:
There is a quite high level of white noise (noise floor) when I want to record something and the actual recorded sound is very quiet when played back (because of the white noise but I also got low amplitudes in my DAW).
Facts:

  1. It's connected via USB (not via firewire) so I think it shouldn't be a grounding problem?
  2. I grabbed the latest driver v2.9 with Yosemite compatibility
  3. The interface/mic combo is working fine on another laptop with Windows 8 installed.

No matter how I try to set up the audio settings... it just doesn't work.

Does anyone experienced something similar?
May it be the fault of the "hackintosh" system (before I contact the Focusrite support)

My guess is that its probably a driver issue and not a hackintosh issue.

If your unit is class compliant, I would try to remove all things Focusrite and just use the core audio drivers.

a quick google shows this is a problem that has shown up for each major os release.

I wouldnt update my os if my main DAW was on it. At least not until 10.10.3 or 4
