Same problem (kernel panics while booting into the Installer partition)

I got the GM up and running, but it wasn't using the method on this site. You'd have to create a bootable USB with the Lion basesystem mounted to it, then you must replace the packages alias with the folder. There's more to it, but if you want to install the GM there's guides on Google that will work.

I think xMove make exactly these things for the Installer partition instead of an USB drive.
