Problems getting my hack to fit TV properly

I'm having problems getting my hack to fit my Dell 42" properly, the screen displayed is actually larger than the TV itself. Is there a trick to getting this sorted out?

I am using HD3000 graphics

If OS X recognizes your Dell HDTV, then go

System Preferences > Displays > Displays

Choose the correct resolution; e.g., 720p or 1080i or 1080p

There should be an "Overscan" with a in front of it to right of the resolutions under the Refresh Rate and Rotation drop down menus. If it checked, then uncheck the box.
