Thank you in advance for any assistance. My neck really hurts and I couldn't find a mouse with a ball in it so i've been rolling the pins inside manually and it is very frustrating, but quite serene and patience-building.

-----------------

Machine boots perfectly after Yosemite 10.10.1 install. With no flags. On-Board graphics work, System Overview shows Intel HD Graphics 4600 1536mb. Video looks good. RAM was only one stick (8GB) for install, have not added the remaining 3x8gb yet.

Specs are Z97X-UD3H, 4790k CPU, Corsair RM650, Carbide 500R case, Ballistix Tactical RAM. Again, no video card as I didn't think it was needed.

After MultiBeast is opened, configuration is made, following some examples I've read on forum:

DSDT Free and then the following modifications:
-----
No Audio (no need, this is for a studio, external audio devices like ProTools cards etc will be installed later)
3rd Party SATA
TRIM Enabler 10.10.x patch
FakeSMC v 6.11.1328
AppleIntelE1000e v3.1.0
AppleRTC Patch for CMOS Reset
1080p Display Mode
Generate CPU States = unchecked (defaults to checked)
IGPEnabler=No
PCI Root ID Fix
Use KernelCache

AND THEN - when I reboot, after MultiBeast Installs, video driver gets screwed up, gives me 1024x768 only, cursor is jerky - Network Adapter seems to work (shows up but haven't tested), haven't tested Sleep/Wake etc but boot time is not too good (compared to my ProBook 4430s, assuming perhaps wrongly that it should be better.)

tried taking some cues from this thread instead, which (now obviously) answers why the graphics weren't working correctly (iMac System Definitions needed, not Mac Pro, since using on-board video.)

perhaps things will be clearer now when I reboot! We shall see..
