I have build some hackintoshes in the past, most of them in silent streacom cases, but last year i had the oppurtunity to buy a cheap old Mac Pro 1.1, with the option in mind to build a new computer into it, so i did buy it. But this turned to be running just fine, and i hated to kill this beautiful computer, i put in a new ssd and some older harddisks i had, upgraded RAM and sold it. Then i bought 2 Mac Pro in one deal for even cheaper. It turned out they were a Mac pro 1.1 and a 2.1. Again they were just fine, only one was missing a GPU and harddisk trays were gone. Again i bought a nice HD5870, put some SSD and more RAM in it and sold both easily. Then last month i finally bought a broken PowerMac G5. I took it apart and with help from this forum i build a new computer in it, with some old parts. Main reason for this build was that my processor, an Intel i7 3770, was running too hot in my streacom FC5 case with passive cooling.
Components used :
-Mainboard - mATX - gigabyte h67ma-usb3-b3
-Intel core i7 3770 processor
-8 Gb RAM (4 x 2 Gb)
-Sapphire RX570 nitro GPU 4Gb RAM
-Bequiet 1000 Watt PSU
-Samsung 840 SSD, 128 Gb
-4 port USB 3 PCI card
-I reused Audio ports from an older Acer case
-Front USB and power button are working
-2 Arctic 90mm fans in the back

currently running windows 10, but plan to install Mac OSX Mojave soon.

to do list :
-Install Harddisk cage, any tips ?
-hide all cables as much as possible
-buy a nice more silent CPU cooler
-make an RJ45 ethernet connector in the back, as for now, the cable comes out of the back
