Hi all,

Just for tell you that i have a best score since i use maverick !
New best score 17973 => http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/2307116

With ML my score was around 17200,

I7 3770k@4,5ghz 1,24v DDR3@2133mhz. Asus P8Z77-V
SMBIOS IMAC 12,2

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UP4-TH with DDR3 1600. and i7 3770K [email protected], i get about 15600-15700.
Seems on the low side compared to some UP5-TH motherboards that i see here. Anything i can look for in bios or other settings? Not that it really bothers, the build is stable and stability is more important then speed as i do sound and photography. But moire speeds is always nice...

I got a Geekbench (v2, 64b) score of 15849 at 4.3GHz (Turbo, XMP) with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. Max temperature during 12 hours Prime95 torture test is 74ºC.

Overclocks comparison

Freq (GHz) Geekbench Score Max Temp (ºC)
Stock Cooler
Voltage (V)
3.7 13,848
3.8 14,125
3.9 14,565 58
4.0 14,843 62 1,128
4.1 15,191 65 1,128
4.2 15,529 68 1,128
4.3 15,849 69 1,128
4.4 16,159 89 1,296

Running at 4.4GHz requires an increase in voltage, consequently temperature fires.

Stock cooler vs Cooler Master 212

Cooler Prime95 Test Freq (GHz) Max Temp (ºC) Fan Speed (rpm) Voltage (V)
Stock idle 1.6 30 1154 0.864
Stock 15m 3.7 80 1800 1.104
Stock 15m 4.3 93 1998 1.176
CM 212 idle 1.6 30 554 0.876
CM 212 15m 3.7 58 1000 1.116
CM 212 15m 4.3 69 1260 1.188
CM 212 12h torture 4.3 74 1375 1.152

Temperature with Cooler Master 212 in 12 hours torture test at 4.3GHz is lower than it with a stock cooler in 15 minutes test at 3.7GHz.

I got 20K with 4.5 ghz @ 2011 socket... Thanks Dingleberry!!

Hi i know i'm out of the topic but i need help for my overclock!
Under windows i'm overclocked @4.3Ghz on a i5 2500k
But when i boot on mac os the proc seems not to be overclocked. (stock 3.3)
What settings did i miss in the bios / chameleon ?
I set the vcore @1.25 and multiplier at 43. disabled turbo settings.

Thanks

Overclocking is not displayed in the OSX system settings. You have to look at the Hardware Monitor to see the clock speed.

MoBo: GA-Z77X-UH5D
Processor: i7-3770K
Cooler: Noctua NH-14D
GPU: GTX 660 Ti
RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengenace CL10

Installed Sierra on my 2012 Hackintosh and for the first time tried overclocking.
Took me a long time to get it running but finally I succeeded this morning.

However, GB score is disappointing!
I managed to set multipliers to 44/44/44/43 and get a GB score of 14400.
Intel Power Gadget shows the correct frequency.

In the process of getting it all working I got GB 12300 when the CPU would max out at 3,5GHz, about 13300 with CPU at 3,9GHz and now finally with OC the 14400.

Cooler is the Noctua NH-14D, but I still get very high temps of >90 (@ 4,4GHz) in Prime95 stress tests.
Fans are running full speed, but didn't make a difference.
Voltages should be OK.
I'll try to re-seat the cooler to bring down the temps.

Any ideas what else I can do to improve the performance?

Cheers!

What sys definition do you use? I have a GB score of 16100, and our builds are more or less similar. I have just 16GB ram and i overclock to 4.2Ghz.
