I would like to know you guys opinions on whether this motherboard tray backplate will fit on the back of th g5 case without overlapping the unlock lever because there is not much room to cut on this backplate thanks :)

Here's a link to the mobo tray: http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/info_2014.html :beachball:

If it that board in the picture then you will be fine as the rear IO doesn't go out much farther then the PCI opening.

With that tray you would most likely end up junking the back plate and fabricating one that incorporates the fans in some manner.

In my case, I used that tray and made up my own back plate and shifted the 92mm fans in a modded Apple fan bracket. See this photo archive:

Hi Dobbo,

I agree with the above....

The tray is a good starting point but I suspect you will want to ditch the backplate and make your own.

I make my own motherboard trays for my projects now, but have difficulty sourcing I/O plates at a sensible cost. I bought some Lain-Li ones like this to rip the I/O off of (it is rivetted to the backplate and tray and easy to drill off) and to use the base of them as reference when i make my own - to make sure I got the hole placement right. It's a decent product and if you are in Europe then importing from Mountain mod.s to get one with fan holes in the right place doesn't make much financial sense.

Cheers guys I'll probly have to import the other lian li tray then I think it's called the pc-6x, since I'm not the handiest with metal work! :D
