Please help to select the right part replacement.

Hey all,

I put together beautiful budget machine about three years ago. It worked just fine until Verizon people installed cable. I don’t know what happened but when I came home, my machine was dead. To make the story short. I want to replace my motherboard with a new one, trying to keep other parts if possible. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thank you.

Gigabyte Intel X58/Intel ICH10R Intel X58 ATX DDR3 2200 LGA 1366 Motherboard (GA-X58A-UD3R)-needs to be replaced

Intel Core i7-960 Processor 3.20 GHz 8 MB Cache Socket LGA1366 - I guess that needs to be replaced too?

Corsair Vengeance 12GB (3x4GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory- I wish I could keep it

About the only things you can re-use in a new build are the case and the GPU. Have you tested to determine if it is the PSU, the CPU or the board itself? With power off, cable to wall unplugged, hold power button down for 20-30 seconds. Then hold the CMOS reset button on the back panel down for 10-20 seconds, still with power cable unplugged.
Reconnect the power cable and power up - does the board post? do the fans run?
