Dear All,

I need your kind help to install
OS X 10.8.4 combo update to my system.

My system is

ASUS P8Z77-V PRO Motherboard
Intel Core i5-3470 3.2 GHz
G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) PC RAM (F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL)
EVGA GeForce GT 640 2048MB GDDR3 Dual DVI mHDMI Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2645-LLT

Presently I am using OS X 10.8.1 by installing update over OS X 10.8.0. While I tried to install OS X 10.8.2/OS X 10.8.3 over it it is unable to boot and hangs. I tried to install OS X 10.8.4 combo update over OS X 10.8.0 installation than also failed to boot. The -v screen shoot given here for reference. It will be great help to me if somebody to install OS X 10.8.4 combo update to my system.

install the new fakesmc in mutibeast 5.3.1

Dear stehor,

Thanks for your advice, but it does not help me. In safe boot (-x) option only works, same screen is appearing when use -v option and system stops responding.

then u will have to do a fresh install sorry for the bad news

Dear stehor,

Its ok, within this time I installed it freshly. It happen in testing. Now some senior hakintosh person can help perfectly as because I tested your advice promptly and updated here.

My new observations:

I came to near to a conclusion that the update is not possible over OS X 10.8.1 due to the display card. I have tested the same updates on same motherboard with other cards like XFX Nvidia GeForce 8600GT or Sparkle GeForce 8400GS are working fine. But I saw the Building a CustoMac : Buyer's Guide June 2013 under graphics card the entry level is GT 640 (tonymacx86.com), but why these are not supported (tested with “ASUS GT640 2GB DDR3 Memory Graphics Cards” & EVGA GeForce GT 640 2048MB GDDR3 Dual DVI mHDMI Graphics Cards 02G-P4-2645-LLT) I could not understand as well as could not solve the problem.

Check list what I did:

Step 01:
Installed OS X 10.8.0 (Uibeast + Multibeast)
Updated with 10.8.1 (Working fine)

Step 02:
Updated with 10.8.2 Combo (Stops responding)

Step 03:
Installed OS X 10.8.0 (Uibeast + Multibeast)
OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.2 Combo (Stops responding)

Step 04:
Installed OS X 10.8.0 (Uibeast + Multibeast)
OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.3 Combo (Stops responding)

Step 05:
Installed OS X 10.8.0 (Uibeast + Multibeast)
OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 Combo (Stops responding)

If there are any possibilities to update my system to OS X Mountain Lion Update v10.8.4 please guide me.

Dear All,

Ultimately I could upgrade my system to 10.8.4. (Last night  ). And till working without any problem.

Steps:

  1. Fresh install 10.8.0
  2. Installed Multibeast 5.3.1
  3. Updated 10.8.4(Combo)
  4. Install multibeast all required settings with some minor addition under System sub menu:

  1. AppleACPIPlatform Rollback à 10.8.1 Rollback
  2. Patched AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement à OS X 10.8.x
  3. AppleRTC Patch for CMOS Reset

NB:- Installed Multibeast 5.3.1 with out restarting from 10.8.4(Combo). Allowed execution of 10.8.4 (Combo) restart after completion of Multibeast installation.

Screen shots attached herewith.

Thanks to “stehor” after your information to install fakesmc from Mutibeast 5.3.1, I could find out the actual problem. 01 - Settings Multibeast.jpg02 - Installation Completed.jpg03 - 1st Monitor Screen Shot.jpg04 - Second Monitor Output.jpg
