pioneer blu ray writer

problem with pioneer blu ray writer, works for about an hour then just goes off as no power to it and it then locks up disk utility, not a problem with the drive as i have tested it in windows

Requires disabling of hard disk sleep in Mac Pro Systems to prevent drive from disappearing during sleep. To disable hard disk sleep go to the Apple --->System Preferences ---> Energy Saver and uncheck "Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible."

Try that.
