Partitions in SL

I am installing SL for access to the MAS, and I am using a 1TB SSD...ive read that 1TB and bigger needs a partition...is there a recommended size
i set up 2 partitions one 40gb the other 960
GUID..mac os extended journaled

or just leave it at one partition...

I went with one..after re-reading the guide said 1tb or less..so i rolled the dice!
