ha! update! got my system running 10.9.5 finally. Cant get sound working tho, i ended up using an external usb audio dongle which works really well. also imessage is not working and Facetime is dead as well. not a big deal to me as i never use them anyways. great community here! found most answers!

Hi,
Did you choose ALC889 (Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > With DSDT > ALC889), check permissions and reboot?

10.9.5 has been ok for me...wake from sleep and imessages is still broken though. 8-(
