Aside from speed, what advantages does this offer over a 2.5" SATAIII?

I'll be testing one of these shortly.

You can save your 6 Gb SATA ports and drive bays. This is big for Mac Pro users who are still stuck on 3 Gb SATA. Also, the blades are upgradable down the road. And it's bootable. Looks slick.

I have been thinking about getting two of these...One for my Mac Pro at work, and one for my Hackintosh at home..

Has anyone put one of these in their hack?

I have been holding off as to wait for the new Mac Pro's but i think i will just go ahead and get at least 1 now. The new Accelsior 2 looks sweet and fast.

Any feedback on them yet?

How come these aren't listed under the recommended items in the Buyer's Guides? It seems the logical choice for highest speed?

It's no real good idea! The OWC Mercury Accelsior_E2 PCI Express SSD does not support Trim, because it has a SandForce SF-2281-Contoller. I have build a Fusion Drive from a 120GB-Mercury (= 2x60) and a 2TB ST-Hard-Drive half a year ago. But it is going slower every week. And the latest firmware update needs an original EFI-Start, what is not supported by Chameleon or Chimera Bootloaders..
